Premier League Announces New “Premier League in Your City” Campaign to Expand U.S. Fan Engagement
New York, NY – 11/12/2024 – The Premier League announced the launch of its “Premier League in Your City” campaign today, a new initiative designed to increase fan engagement across the United States. This community-focused campaign brings the excitement of the Premier League to American fans through local watch parties, Premier League app features, and partnerships with popular U.S. brands, making the Premier League more accessible and culturally relevant to American audiences.
The “Premier League in Your City” campaign kicks off this season, with initial watch parties held in major cities like New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Miami. Each event features live match showings, team merchandise giveaways, photo opportunities, and appearances by well-known American sports influencers. The Premier League’s official app will also add new features tailored to U.S.-based users, including match schedules and interactive trivia challenges.
“As the Premier League grows globally, we want to create meaningful ways for our fans in the U.S. to feel connected to the league and its teams,” said Richard Masters, Premier League Chief Executive Officer. “The ‘Premier League in Your City’ campaign allows us to do exactly that by bringing our games and our culture to American sports fans in a way that’s accessible, exciting, and built for community. We’re thrilled to see the passion of our American fans and to provide them with a unique way to be part of the Premier League.”
The campaign will also feature collaborations with popular U.S. brands to further integrate the Premier League within American sports culture. Partners include Nike, which will release exclusive Premier League apparel collections, and Spotify, where players and fan ambassadors will create specialized playlists. Additional partnerships with social media platforms like Twitch will offer fans the opportunity to stream live match commentary and interact with influencers who can share insights on Premier League storylines, teams, and players.
Rebecca Lowe, NBC Sports Premier League host and analyst, emphasized the campaign’s focus on community: “The Premier League has such an incredible following here in the U.S., and I’m thrilled to see the league creating more ways for fans to connect locally. There’s something truly special about watching these games with fellow fans—it brings out the passion and energy that make the Premier League so unique. ‘Premier League in Your City’ gives fans that chance, creating memorable experiences and a stronger sense of community.”
The campaign will run throughout the season, with plans in place to expand to more cities and include exciting virtual components for fans who do not have access to in-person events.
